New drone video: Seychelles from the air

Seychelles is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I have looked at paradise in the Indian Ocean and filmed many beautiful places. Now sit back a few minutes and enjoy our drone video from the Seychelles!

I filmed the video in September 2017. In addition to the large islands of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue, you can see smaller islands such as Coco Island or Curieuse in the movie.

The DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone was mainly used. The stabilized ground shots are filmed with a DJI Osmo and the underwater shots with a GoPro Hero 4 Black Edition. Overall, I’ve captured nearly 200 GB of footage. Sabrina has now cut together this beautiful drone video.

During my trip, I was also on a sailing catamaran for a few days. In particular, the aerial shots from the boat were very challenging, as the high wind has influenced the flight path of the drone. Besides, the catamaran has, of course, continued to move while sailing. These maneuvers were complicated to fly. If you have similar plans, you should already have a lot of experience in controlling multicopters (even in high winds).

Hi Francis! I’m going to Seychelles next february, and planning to get my Mavic with me, just for recreational purposes (I’m just a tourist). Do you know which regulations or restrictions would apply? Any advice on this will be very helpfull. Thanks for sharing your spectacular video!
